My name is Anna and I have a soft spot for dogs, especially sighthounds!

Being a dog owner myself I know how important it is to find the right place for your dog to stay. This gives you peace of mind while you are away and reassurance that your dog will be relaxed and stress free.

How Pooch Patrol began

Several years ago I decided to set up Pooch Patrol, as for the last 20 years I have been flying as cabin crew for an airline out of Gatwick. It was an amazing experience but it was time to hang up my wings for good. I decided to use my customer service experience and my love of dogs to set up Pooch Patrol. I’ve returned to college and have been studying canine behaviour level 2 and 3. Following on from that I have now passed my level 4 IMDTB (The Institute of Modern Dog Training and Behaviour) with distinction. I am working towards my level 5 to become a behavioural specialist. I am also a fully qualified and accredited dog trainer with the IMDT.

Our passion/specialist service

Pooch Patrol welcomes a variety of breeds but we specialise and are experienced with sighthounds, from greyhounds, borzois, whippets, salukis, lurchers, wolfhounds and more.

These sensitive long nosed companions are a favourite of ours and we have been lucky enough to welcome two ex-racing greyhounds into our family for the past 18 years.

We are now the proud owners of a very majestic borzoi who goes by the name of Hendrix. Although he is much larger and hairier than the usual sighthound he has similar characteristics to a greyhound and spends most of his days horizontally.

Here at Pooch Patrol we understand that your lovable, deep chested hound needs a calm and gentle approach.

We know that adjusting to any new home can sometimes be difficult so we are fully equipped with plenty of sofas to relax on and claim as their own. We have a large enclosed rear garden for those all important “zoomies”.

If your dog needs to stay with greyhounds only or is sighthound specific this can be requested in your advance booking.

Our aim

We aim to provide a home from home environment for your dog, giving them plenty of fuss and walks. I am DBS checked, licensed and fully insured.

We live in the village of Copthorne which is only ten minutes from Gatwick Airport, Junction 10 on the M23, making us ideal for holiday drop-offs. There is some beautiful countryside close by, with plenty of walking routes. We also have a large enclosed rear garden for your dog to enjoy and inside there are plenty of sofas to lay on and room to play.
