I am a Level 4 qualified dog trainer and behaviourist, accredited with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), the leading education provider for both trainers and behaviourists and is a registered learning centre for The Open College Network.
If you are joining the world of dogs for the first time or would like to build on your current level of training and have fun with your dog, then Pooch Patrol Dog Training classes can help. with science-based, positive reinforcement training works.
The course is weekly for 6 consecutive weeks unless advised when booking. During the Summer months, the sessions take place on Mondays at 6:30pm for puppies and 7:30pm for dogs. The venue for the course is Hook Lane Recreation Ground, North Lane, West Hoathly, RH19 4PP. Situated a short distance from The Cat Inn public house and located adjacent to the West Hoathly Bowls Club. Please do not park in the bowls club car park, there is a public car park next to the training field with adequate parking space. On Tuesdays I have classes at Lloyd Hall, Brickfield Road, Outwood, Redhill RH1 5QX, 6:30pm for puppies and 7:30pm for dogs.
There are currently two venues for Winter puppy and dog training classes. On Mondays at Hapstead Hall, 13 High Street, Ardingly, Haywards Heath RH17 6TB, 6:00pm. We also hold puppy and adult dog training on Tuesdays at Lloyd Hall, Brickfield Road, Outwood, Redhill RH1 5QX, 6:30pm for puppies and 7:30pm for dogs.

SESSION INFORMATION
One-to-one behaviour sessions have a 60 minute duration. Payment is required before each session.
Covering life skills and how to combat general puppy problems: toilet training, chewing, crate training, lead walking and sleep problems. All training is positive and reward based using physical and verbal praise, treats and toys.
Not all dogs suit the group class environment. Pooch Patrol Dog Training lessons are a great way to get the whole family involved. In a relaxed and familiar environment in the comfort of your own home. I will work with you to help remedy any unwanted behaviours and show your dog the behaviour we do want and how to achieve it in a fun and mentally stimulating way.

Puppy Home Visits
This service is a pre-vacincation visit and an opportunity for early training support. A puppy home visit is a professional consultation, held in your own home to help new owners establish routines, set boundaries, and address early training needs like potty training, biting, and socialisation, ensuring a smooth transition for the puppy and preventing future behavioural issues by creating a positive, structured environment from day one.
Key aspects covered in a visit:
- Environment setup: Puppy-proofing your home, setting up safe spaces (bed, crate), and defining feeding/play areas.
- Routine and boundaries: Establishing consistent schedules for feeding, potty breaks, sleep, and introducing household rules.
- Basic training: Guidance on house training (toilet training), leash walking, bite inhibition, and preventing jumping.
- Socialisation: Strategies for safe introductions to new people, pets, sounds, and surfaces, even before full vaccinations.
- Behavioral guidance: Addressing common puppy behaviours like chewing, barking, and separation anxiety.
- Q&A: An opportunity to ask me specific questions about your puppy’s needs.

I have now passed my level 4 IMDTB (The Institute of Modern Dog Training and Behaviour) with distinction. I am working towards my level 5 to become a behavioural specialist. Additionally, I have gained my 3 Day Easy Peasy Puppy Instructor Course.
